ואז במלחמה הקשה הזאת, היטלר התקדם במערכה ועמד להיכנס לארץ ישראל, פלשתינה
וכבר ידעו בארץ מה קורה ליהודים באירופה בשואה, והיה פחד גדול
ערבי אחד הראה לאבא שלי כרוז שנזרק ממטוס ביחד עם הרבה כרוזים כאלה, ובו הגרמנים פנו לערביי הארץ וכתבו, הנה אנחנו באים, הרגו את היהודים וקחו לעצמכם את הבתים שלהם,ואת הנשים תעשו לשפחות שלכם
ואז חל מפנה במלחמה, והיטלר הפנה את המלחמה לכיוון אחר, וחשנו הקלה
אז זה מה שמעניין אותי עכשיו בנושא הזה, מה קרה אז ולמה היה השינוי, אני יודעת שנלחמו במדבר לוב ועמדו להיכנס לארץ דרך מצרים אחרי שיכבשו אותה, אבל היה גם משהו בצפון אולי בלבנון, כי משה דיין השקיף במשקפת לשם וכדור של רובה חדר לעין שלו דרך המשקפת, ולכן  הוא איבד עין והיתה לו רטייה על הראש שהסתירה את העין שאיננה
אז אמא שלי אז פחדה מאד, ובקשה מאתנו הילדים שנשמור את  הסנדלים ליד המיטה , כי אם יצנחו צנחנים בשדה שלנו שהיה מבודד, נצטרך לברוח לתוך הפרדסים
